New Delhi (Agencies): Breaking News! According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India contributed 20 per cent of the Tuberculosis (TB) cases in the world. The WHO report also said that India has high morbidity and mortality rates due to tuberculosis. South-East Asia regional director of WHO, Samlee Plianbangchang said that on World Tuberculosis Day on March 24. Even though India has launched several initiatives, including the National TB programmes, the situation is still alarming. The WHO also said that over four per cent TB patients also have HIV infection. |
